Our Story
For the longest time I have wanted to learn how to make candles. Mostly because I LOVE them! Their pretty ambiance is memorizing (especially when you like to sit in the dark 😉) but mostly I love the wonderful scents they give off…especially the ones that smell like food...hello maple and pumpkin spice 🤤...I digress.
Anyways, this is something I have always put on the back burner saying I am just too busy. It will have to wait until work slows down OR I just need to finish this course, diploma, degree, designation, etc. (I am and always will be a perma-student,) maybe when I am on mat leave (she laughs hysterically here...boy was I delusional,) maybe when Madison goes to school, and so on. There always seemed to be an excuse not to start.
Enter 2020....who knew this would be the year of COVID, the year we would be confined to our houses. The year everything would change. However, to me not everything has been a change for the worse. While I miss seeing my family and friends in real life, I feel like we have received somewhat of a little reset. A break to slow down and evaluate what is really important. If 2020 has taught us anything...life is short! STOP wasting all your time doing all the things you think or have been told you HAVE to do and START doing the things you have always WANTED to do!
So I did! I got me some supplies, read me some books, did some research, practiced a bunch and here we go.
Hello Glimmer and Glow Gifts by JMC (that would be Jen, Madison Co. BTW.) Yup...my business partner is my little person! Just like that she decided the best thing to go with candles is bath bombs! She is also the mastermind behind new product development and the best little tester and market researcher you can find. Who knew the best business partner would be a seven year old!
Our goal is to create clean products that are good for you, leaving out all the extra fillers and icky things that no one really needs these days. Our candles are made of 100% soy wax. We do not use wax additives, preservatives or extra colours. The fragrances we use are paraben-free and phthalate-free. In our bath bombs we aim for fun but we also try to include ingredients to make your skin and body happy too. In addition to creating clean products we also want to support our community, so we do our very best to locate supplies through local vendors.
Soooo to sum up the moral of our story… stop putting off the things you love thinking there will be a better time...the time is now!❤️
